With our new P-51B, we not only give you great detail but we also give you options. We believe that you should decide how you want to display your model.

We have included an optional pilot, two position landing gear assembly, display stand, and many other features that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else in 1/48th. For example, if you want drop tanks on you model weve provided you with a pair of both the 110- and 75-gallon varieties. If you prefer yours without tanks only the hard points will remain. You may also adjust the flaps to a lowered position, adding yet another dimension to your display.

No decals, No decal problems! You will not find one label or decal on these models, everything is pad-printed.

The new P-51B's details appear not only on the exterior of the model, but on the interior as well. For example, there is a radiator visible from the rear of the radiator exhaust door. Beneath a removable engine panel you will also find a detailed Packard Merlin engine. Don't worry, we didn't forget the cockpit. The cockpit is detailed with painted instruments, control stick, rudder pedals, and K-14 gun site with clear reflector. All of this is easily viewable due to the optional canopy assembly that can be displayed either open or closed.

The following is a detail comparison of Eagles International's new P-51B Mustang and Franklin Mint's "Collection Armour" P-51D Mustang models. The images of the P-51B are of pre-production die-cast prototypes. These prototypes reflect the casting in it's most basic form. Even though the prototype's tooling is unrefined you can see that Eagles International's P-51B has set a new standard for 1:48th scale die-cast replicas.

Radiator Scoop and Trailing Gear >

Note:
The color of the trailing gear's wheel and doors are representative of the differences in construction materials and not of the production model's appearance.

A VISIBLE DIFFERENCE

You can see that even within the small cross sections shown, the Eagles International model easily has twice the detail of Franklin Mint's "Collection Armour" line of 1:48th scale model aircraft.

There are obvious differences between the two models. In the image to the right, you can see where Franklin's casting separates. Can you see where it does on ours? It happens to occur in almost the same place, but by following the natural panel lines of the aircraft we are able the disguise these separations.

LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER

Within the P-51B's open radiator exhaust door, is a detailed radiator. Franklin's P-51D only has a die-cast post on the inside and an exposed screw on the exterior.

Eagles Internationals new line of models also come with a display stand. In order to maintain the appearance of our model, we designed the P-51B so that the stand's mounting socket is underneath the removable tail wheel assembly. This allows the socket to be hidden when the stand is not in use.

Wings and Flaps  >

You can see that a large amount of detail appears on the our model's wing (shown on bottom). Our Mustang also has variable flaps with a sixty-five degree range of motion.

Main Landing Gear>
Long a problem with reproductions, are P-51 landing gears with outer doors to short, tires to thin, wrong tread and lack of strut detail.
